I was having breakfast on the 49th floor of a hotel in Kunming with a panorama view of the city. It was slightly misty but I could see the small vehicles moving along the streets and highway. This is a city of over 8 million. 8 million individuals are starting their day, each a lifetime of memories, each a story to tell and each a life path to follow. I think of the number of cities in the world and the billions of people on earth, each an unique individual, each an unique destiny.
Looking back over the months the world seems to be in turmoil with the continuing Ukraine War, the Palestine Israel conflict and the devastation caused by climate change. It must have been quite a test of faith for people who believe in a God that created this world when watching news of babies cramming into an incubator in Gaza. You can not comprehend why some have to bear indescribable miseries while others seem to have it easier.
Perhaps we can never comprehend because our little brain does not have that capacity and scope to understand the dimension beyond this world. I always like to remind myself that humans are living in an universe too vast to fathom and the truth too complex to know. It is just like a little ant busily crawling up and down a tree trunk is unaware of the forest, the earth and the universe.
Like an ant one just need to carry out the responsibility of living the life given moment by moment.
